7 Mistakes Women Make when it Comes to Lingerie
Today, we are looking at seven mistakes many women make with their lingerie, whether it is caring for their intimates or while shopping. This list is based on personal experience (as in I have been guilty of all of these mistakes), so do not beat yourself up if you see yourself in these. You can always share below in the comments if you would like to get your mistake off your chest (pun intended.)
Actively Disliking Others’ Lingerie
So, maybe see through bras are not your thing or you have an issue with pantyhose, this is not an excuse to call these people out on discussion boards, web forums, or blogs dedicated to being jerks to people. Even if you are posting anonymously, that does not make you any less of a jerk. It just makes you a cowardly jerk. Instead, go with your lingerie of choice, and let others live their personal lives without your criticism.
Being Jealous of Others’ Lingerie
This goes hand and hand with the above mistake. Often times, people will use the some online outlets to lash out at people they are jealous of. The saying “May you live in interesting time” has never been truer for lingerie-ophiles than the 21st century. More than any other time in the history of woman, there is a vast array of colors, the best quality fabrics, and many different sizes. If you are jealous, it is your own fault. Do something about it!
Buying Lingerie that Fits Your Younger Body
You must get resized any time you do something that changes your body. This includes:
- Having a baby
- Gaining weight
- Stopping breastfeeding
- Getting pregnant
- Losing weight
Panties are the same way. Buy your intimates in the size you are, not the size you wish you were. You will be more comfortable and will feel better about yourself.
Spending too much on Lingerie
A lot of ladies (you know who you are) will max out a credit card to get lingerie that is way out of their price range. You know what I am talking about if you have a closet full of Wolford, Kiki de Montparnasse, Agent Provocateur, and Le Perla. It is not worth going in debt and collecting bottles and cans to eat for a pair of perfect Chantilly lace, hand embroidered, high waist panties. If you simply must indulge in fancy lingerie to keep life worth living, the squirrel away a bit of cash in a separate account.
Buying too much Lingerie
Who can pass up a sale? You should…sometimes. Take a look in your dresser or closet. Are there items that you bought years ago that you have never worn? This is a sure sign that you need to learn to pass up some sales. If you are never going to wear the pair of panties, do not buy them: even if it is out of the clearance bin. Also, you waste money anytime you buy a bra that does not fit you. If taken care of properly, you can find plenty of inexpensive, comfortable bras out there that will last you for a while. And, that brings me to the next big mistake…
Not Taking Care of Lingerie
You have heard that you are not supposed to machine wash or dry your intimates. You know that handwashing is the best method for making your lingerie last. But, do you heed these rules? If you take care of your lingerie, it will last longer, look better, and fit more comfortably. So, say it with me, do NOT put your bras in the dryer or washer. Cotton hosiery gloves and specialty washes are also available if you really want to get the most out of your lingerie. You will notice an improvement.
Thinking Lingerie Will Make You Look Like a Model in a Magazine
It is really easy to do. Advertising firms create their ads with the express purpose of tricking you into thinking that you can look just like the models you see wearing the lingerie in their ads. Do not fall for it. Every time you catch yourself thinking, “Hmmm, I could look just like her in that.” Scream in your head: “AIRBRUSH!” Sure, there are pieces of lingerie out there that you would look AMAZING in. Be practical about it. For example, if you are a large breasted woman, you will need a supportive bra. Not that dainty little thing you saw in the paid ads on Cosmo.
Twilight Lingerie can help you find that AMAZING lingerie you seek. Take a look around and feel free to ask questions.
